Selection Process in TNPSC Group II Examinations

Selection Procedure in TNPSC Group II Combined Civil Service Examination is given below in a detailed manner.

The TNPSC Recruitment Process for Combined Civil Services for Group II Examination will be comprises of Three levels viz.,
  • Preliminary (Objective)Exam
  • Mains (Written Type) and 
  • Finally Oral or Personal Interview.

The Preliminary Examinations is just a Screening Examination which is just an elimination process and those who made this Preliminary Successful will not be considered for order of Merit.

But once you got cleared your Preliminary Examination are you will be allowed to take the Next level of the Examination which is the Mains Examination. Please have a note with this that, The candidates allowed for Mains Examination will be ten times the Total Numberof Vacancies in TNPSC Group II Services Exam.

Then the person who had qualified in the Mains Examination may be requested to attend the Next level of selection process which is Oral Test/Personality Test/Personal Interview. The candidates will be given 40 Marks for their Interview and Records checking.

TNPSC Phase IV Counselling form September 4

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has confirmed that it would conduct the fourth phase of counselling to fill up 516 vacancies in Group-IV services on September 4 and 5 at 8:30 am. The eligible candidates have been sent a notification from TNPSC and the register numbers and the date and time at which they are to appear have been put up on the TNPSC website.

The eligible candidates should be present with original certificates along with attested copies, at the office of TNPSC, Frazer Bridge Road, VOC Nagar, Chennai.

Those candidates who have passed Class X/SSLC in Tamil medium should produce a certificate obtained from the principal/headmistress of the institution in which they have studied.

They will be given unit allotment subject to the availability of vacancies.

However, please not that the call for counselling does not guarantee appointment. Also, those who fail to appear on the said date would not be accommodated at a later date.

Official Answer Keys for TNPSC Group IV Examinations Released

The TNPSC Group IV examinations were conducted on August 25, 2013. Nearly 12 lakh aspirants participated in the examination.

As per schedule, the results are expected to be released in October or November.

The examination was held to fill vacancies in the posts of 3,531 junior assistants in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service/ Judicial Ministerial Service and 1,738 typists in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service/ Secretariat Service/ Judicial Ministerial Service.

12 Lakh Aspirants Write TNPSC Group IV Examinations

The Tamilnadu Public Service Commission conducted Group IV examinations on Aug 25, 2013 and a total of 12,21,167 candidates appeared for the examinations across the state. The exam was conducted to fill up 5,566 posts - said, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Chairman, A. Navaneethakrishnan.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai after the examinations, he said that the entire recruitment process will be conducted in a transparent manner and TNPSC has taken efforts to evaluate the answer sheets without any errors.

The examinations were taken care by 75,000 supervisors and 950 officials in flying squads in 4,764 centres in 244 places. With the distribution of unique hall tickets with routes to the examination venue, a large number of job aspirants reached the destination without difficulty and took the examination.

“TNPSC took efforts to conduct the examination without any malpractice and it has achieved it. The centers, which were considered as sensitive, were monitored through webcasting and video graph. Collectors have monitored the examination in districts. The examination was also monitored from TNPSC headquarter,” an official disclosed.

Through this exam, the Commission will fill up the State Government posts which includes Junior assistant, Bill collector, Typist, Steno, Field supervisor and Draftsman in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service and Tamil Nadu Land Records and Subordinate Service.

Last year, more than 10 lakh candidates had appeared for 10,266 posts in the Group IV service. This year 86.43 per cent of the candidates who applied for the posts, have taken the examination.

TNPSC Coachin Classes to be Given by Corporation

The Chennai Corporation recently passed a resolution to provide coaching classes for all competitive exams and now, applications have been invited from interested candidates. The Corporation had declared in its budget report that the coaching will be provided for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Chartered Accountant (CA), Institue of Cost and Works Accounts (ICWA), Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE)  entrance exams, among others.

When we approached one of the Corporation officials for details, he said, “Earlier, it was reported that only candidates who are residing in the Corporation limits are eligible for the coaching. But now, we have decided to provide coaching to candidates from other parts of the State too.”

He also added that the classes will be conducted during weekends and after school hours at the Corporation schools.

“All the necessary learning materials will be provided for the candidates free of cost. The classes will be handled separately for men and women at different hours,” the official said.

TNPSC Group II 2013 for 1059 Vacancies

In a recently held Press conference, Chairman of Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Mr.Navaneethakrishnan said that the announcement on Group-2 services examination will be done in the upcoming week. According to his statement, there will be around 1059 vacant positions in various departments of Tamil Nadu Government.

He said that the exams will be conducted as per the order received from Chief Minister to fill the vacant positions immediately.

He also said that, according to the new exam pattern, Group-2 services will consist of two modes of selection procedures. One set of designations will be selected by conducting Written Test along with Personal Interview and the others will be selected by conducting only Online Test.

To begin with, the vacancies which come under the Personal Interview category will be filled and it will be followed by the other set of designations.

The total number of vacancies under the Group 2 category are 1059 and these cover various designations and levels. Most of the designations that are going to be filled in this recruitment process are listed below.

The Candidates for these posts will be selected mainly through Written Test and Personal Interview. TNPSC Group IV Hallticket Download Error

Hello candidates,

TNPSC has recently released the Hall tickets for all the candidates who have applied for TNPSC Group IV examinations.

Note: Candidates who are unable to download their hall tickets, in spite of following all the application procedures correctly, should send in their details with name, registration id, application and examination fee particulars, branch and postal address to TNPSC.

Candidates should do this immediately, so that they can get their hall ticket on time.

Out of the 17,06,552 applications, 3,01,441 have been rejected by TNPSC due to multiple entries and failure to remit exam and application fees. As many as 458 others too have been rejected due to various reasons, which haven't been specified.

Know your Route to TNPSC Group - IV Examination Venue

Here is a good news for all the candidates who are waiting to appear for Tamilnadu Group IV examinations.
The Tamil Nadu Public Services Commission (TNPSC) has decided to give a layout of the nearest landmark and contact number of the examination centre, along with hall ticket. So, it would be easier for all the candidates to locate their examinations venue. 

The hall tickets for written examinations for recruitment to 5,566 posts under Group IV have been released recently online, by TNPSC. By adding the layout of nearest landmark and contact number, TNPSC wants to ensure that candidates don’t lose time in just searching for their centres on the day of the exam.

The hall tickets were released online on www.tnpsc.gov.in and www.tnpscexams.net for the examinations that are scheduled for the forenoon of August 25.

TNPSC chairman A Navaneethakrishnan recently informed media that the examination halls would be videographed to discourage students from malpractice.

“About 4,500 cameras are to be set up. We have also asked district administration officials to identify sensitive examination centres. Web-casting will be set-up from these centres and it can be viewed by respective officials as well as from the control room set up at the TNPSC headquarters,” he said.

The commission will have 4,755 principal supervisors, 70,230 supervisors, 4,500 field officers and 950 flying squad officers to monitor the candidates.

Candidates appearing for the examination should not bring any electronic device, including mobile phones, into the examination halls. Defaulters would not be allowed to take the examination.

Selection of 73 candidates for Group I exam cancelled by TNPSC

Recently, TNPSC has cancelled 73 candidates from selecting for the TNPSC Group I (2011-2012).

TNPSC Chairman A. Navaneethakrishnan spoke to media and said: “On verification of certificates, it is found that there are changes in eligibility status of 95 candidates.”

TNPSC had earlier released a list of 1330 selected candidates for the Group I main examinations on May 16. Later on, they found that the number of such provisionally selected candidates were not enough and hence revised the list, increasing the number of candidates to 1391.

The revised list has an additional 134 candidates who will appear for the Group I mains examination on September 27, 28 and 29. The main examinations will be held in Chennai.

The candidates who have been selection provisionally, have to upload their documents online and send required documents by registered post by August 26. Those candidates who fail to send the documents by August 26 will not be eligible to take the main examinations.

The Group I preliminary examination was held on February 16 and it is mainly for filling up 25 vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Government division.

TNPSC Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Subordinate Service Exam Pattern

The Tamil Nadu Public Service commission has recently called for applications for the post of 'Executive Officer Grade III'. Last date for submitting application is 18 August 2013. The date of examination is 19 October 2013.

Given below is the pattern of examination for this post:

Note:
  1. Candidates should posses adequate knowledge of Tamil.
  2. Ine type of question paper will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Aptitude Test (25 items) and General Tamil (100 items) / General English (100 items). 
  3. The other will contain questions on Saivam and Vaishnavam (200 items). 
  4. Candidates will be given the option to choose either General Tamil or General English for answering
    the second 100 items apart from answering the first (75+25)100 items on General Studies.
  5. The questions on General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil and the questions on General Tamil/ General English will be set in the respective languages.
  6. The question on Hindu Religion and Saivism and Vaishnavism in respect of paper-II will be set in Tamil only



TNPSC Group 8 Service Executive Officer Post Vacany

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has invited applications through online mode only from candidates belonging to Hindu Religion only within 16.08.2013, for recruitment of Executive officers under Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Subordinate Service.


The Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification Minimum General Educational Qualification;

A pass in the SSLC Examination with eligibility for admission to College courses of studies in the Universities in this State. (11 years course of study)

  • If a candidate already has Unique ID, then that Unique ID and password should be entered to view the already available information and update them, if necessary.
  • If the candidates don't have valid ID, then all the required particulars, without skipping any field, must be entered.
  • Candidates need to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.
  • An online application uploaded without the photograph and signature will be rejected

TNPSC Question Paper Leak Case, Accused Arrested

Erode:  The case of Question paper leak in the Group-II Services examination conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) in August 2012 was transferred to the Crime Branch CID in Sep 2012.

As the first breakthrough in the case, the CBCID police has arrested a printing press owner in Kolkatta.

Police officials have confirmed that the question papers were printed in the press owned by Rishikesh Gundu at Kolkatta, from where two others have transferred them to Erode.

The CBCID police rushed to Kolkatta when they got a clue and arrested him, sources said. Gundu was produced before the judicial Magistrate Kavitha here this evening in the evening and remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

TNPSC Group IV Hall Ticket Download

The Hall ticket for TNPSC Group 4 examinations will be available to download for the candidates from August 1st week onwards.The examination is going to be conducted on August 25, 2013. Candidates can download their TNPSC Group 4 hall ticket online from first week of August onwards. The hall tickets for TNPSC Group 4 can be download from TNPSC's official website - www.tnpsc.gov.in

Tamil Nadu Group 4 exam is going to be conducted on 25th August, 2013. TNPSC had recently issued a notification for filling up 5546 posts in Tamil Nadu Government. There has been more than 10 lakhs of applications for TNPSC Group 4 exam 2013, through online and offline modes. Last date for online application form filling was 15th July, 2013.

TNPSC Group IV witnesses lakhs of applications for 5500 vacancies.


The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission had called for applications for the Group IV examination recently and this year’s applications have surpassed all the previous years’ number.  Yes, the TNPSC has received a record number of 16.14 lakh of applications for just 5500 posts that were announced.
This makes one post to have almost close to 300 competitors for one Group IV post. The head of TNPSC, Mr. Navaneetha Krishnan said, “Our Chief Minister has mandated that all the vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Government has to be filled in immediately and based on that, we had called for applications for filling 5,566 vacancies throughout Tamilnadu. The examination for this is going to be held on August 25. Through this exam, Junior assistants, typists, short hand specialists, Tax specialists etc are going to be appointed. The last day for application was July 15. Until June 15 evening 4PM 16.14 lakh applicants have applied for these posts.”
 
“This Group IV has become the biggest examination ever for TNPSC. This shows the transparency and confidence that the candidates have on the commission. The trust that people have in us will not fail. We will be conducting exams in 244 centres and wherever there are more than 1000 candidates, we will be having surveillance cameras for monitoring. Only those who study and prepare well can pass in this examination. This will ensure that the government takes the best of the talents,” he added.

The head of TNPSC has also assured that the Group IV examination will be held ethically and without any faults. No one need to panic about the examination. Exam pattern for TNPSC Librarian Grade-I

TNPSC has recently called for applications for the post of Librarian Grade I. The post code for the post is 1852  and Name of the Service is "Tamil Nadu General Subordinate Service".

The scale of pay for the post would be Rs. 9,300 - 34,800 (PB2) + 4,500 Grade Pay.

Pattern of Exam

There will be two papers for the examination. Both will be Computer Based Tests and an Interview would follow the exams.

Totally the marks would be for 570 and the minimum qualifying mark is 228 for OC and 171 for SC, ST, MBC and BC.


Note: The question paper for both the subjects will be in Tamil and English.

Heavy Competition for TNPSC Vacancies

Two of the employees of TNPSC have retired on July 1st and the vacancy that has got created through this has created huge competition among the aspirants.

Tamil Nadu Government's various departmental posts such as Junior assistants, Typists, Shorthand writers, officers etc are being filled through selection of candidates through TNPSC examinations.

Also, TNPSC conducts exams for Government servants for getting promotions in their departments too, through departmental exams. TNPSC has 14 members and a head for it. Currently, Tamil Nadu Goverment's former advocate A. Navaneetha Krishnan is the head of TNPSC.

The head and the members of TNPSC will be in the employment for 6 years or upto 62 years of age, whichever comes first. In this line, two of the members of TNPSC - M. Shobini and S. Saviour Raja have got retired for their current posts. This has created two vacancies in TNPSC membership.

Usually, TNPSC employment is given to retired Police officers IPS and IAS officers, Senior advocates, Army members, and educationists are given the posts in TNPSC. There is no other specific rules for getting membership job in the commission.

Current head of TNPSC was previously the Advocate General for Tamil Nadu Government and prior to him, Mr. Natraj was there and he was a retired IGP officer. Prior to him two of the retired IAS officers were the heads.

TNPSC members and head will get upto Rs.1 lac as salary including all the perks. These posts are highly important and influential posts. They will get a car with Red Siren, a house in Government Quarters and office assistants separately.

Above all, no one can take away their employment so easily from TNPSC. Hence, the vacancy for this commission always faces high and severe competition.
