TNPSC Group 2 Exam Important Dates

TNPSC group 2 examination will be conducted on June month of every year. ·        Examination notification is released on April 30, 2015.
·        Submission of application form starts on  May 1st ,2015
·        Last date for Submission of Application is on May 29, 2015.
·        Last date of fee payment is on June 1st 2015.
·        Preliminary Exam date  on July 26,2015.(10:00 AM to 1:00 PM)
·        Results will be displayed 50 days from exam date.
Application Fee
1.      Applicants required recompensing Rs.125 towards preliminary examination (Rs 75 for application and Rs 25 for exam fee.
2.      For Main Examination Applicants need to pay Rs.100.

Selection Procedure
Selection will be made in 3 successive Stages
·        Primary examination is conducted to select the candidates for main examination written test.
·        Main written examination

The preliminary examination is offered to attend, as selection test only. The marks obtained by the candidates in the preliminary examination, who are identified as eligible for admission to the main written examination. But main exam marks will not be calculated for determining their final order of excellence.
Two types of question papers will be set for TNPSC group 2 exams. Paper 1 consists of General Studies with 75 items, Aptitude and mental ability test with 25 items, General English with 100 items. Applicants can select either general Tamil or general English for answering the second 100 items.
Outline of the Examination Pattern
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
General studies (degree standard) consists 75 items, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (S.S.L.C.Std) consists of 25 items. General Tamil or General English (S.S.L.C.Std) consists of 100 items. Maximum marks you need to score marks in preliminary exam is 300 marks and minimum qualifying marks for all communities is 90 marks. Time duration of exam is 3 hours.
Main Examination (Descriptive Type) and Oral Test

For general studies, degree standard and descriptive type delivers maximum marks 300, minimum qualifying marks 102. For interview and record minimum marks are 40. Time duration of exam is 3 hours.

TNPSC Group 1 Interview Guidance

TNPSC Conducts examination for candidates according to their education qualification and skills to overthrow the available seats in group 1, 2, 3, 4.Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts group 1 exam in 3 stages. Oral test is in the form of an interview. The selections will be made on total marks achieved by the candidates, at the written and oral test together taken. Selection also depends on the post option applied by the candidate and follows the rule of reservation while employing candidates separately for each post and unit. Candidate must compulsorily need to appear in written examination and oral test.
After Completion of first 2 stages candidates call for third level exam that is interview and record test. Interview will be conducted for 120 marks with 3 hours duration. Final selection is made on the basis of performance in interview.

The TNPSC sets the question paper for the main written examination in both Tamil and English language. Candidates are allowed to answer the main written either in Tamil or English.

First paper is on general knowledge with general Tamil and another one is general knowledge with general english. The question paper will be limited for 100 questions related to general knowledge and the remaining 100 questions is either from general Tamil or from general english.

The questions are predictable in both Tamil and English languages on general knowledge with respect to the degree standard. The general Tamil and general English languages are established with respective 10th standard. The duration of time for the exam is 3 hours with maximum 300 marks for both written exam and for oral test.You need to score 90 marks in only written exam. To qualify for the written with oral test is with minimum 102 marks.

Written exam is conducted in 3 hours duration. The maximum marks including both written test and oral test are 340.You need to score minimum 102 marks in only written test to qualify for the selection. You need to score 102 marks in both oral tests and written test. The candidates who have qualified for written test, they can appear for the oral test or interview. Oral test carries maximum 40 marks. In an Interview candidate required to answer the questions on technical knowledge, current activities and government strategies.
