On a recent census on the amount of vacancies that the
Government will be a subject of, about 1.27 lakh employees under Government
will retire this year 2012-2013 leaving as many seats vacant. The reason to
such massive retirement and vacancy thereof is because of the fact that during
2001-2005 the act of “non-job recruitment” for the Government employees was
under subject. Due to this the retirements continued but no immediate
recruitments followed. This 5 year gap followed by recruitment being done in a
random manner rather than the orderly fashion according to the requirements
under various districts and divisions, the confusion and vacancies have
increased.
This has now amassed to the massive proportion of 1.27 lakh
retirements. Of this 52,000 Government teachers are also included.
Government posts
details:
There are about 142 Government based departments in Tamil
Nadu. Of the accounting in 1996, about 6 lakh teachers, 3 lakh general
Government employees, 1 lakh uniform division employees and 2 lakh contract
basis employees made the Government employee sector.
The particularity:
The Government has been very active about filling the
teacher’s posts but it fails to implement same kind of enthusiasm about the
other related Government posts. Also the Government teachers’ posts are being
refilled by the same retired teachers on a contract basis rather than employ
freshers. This has posed a great problem and a never ending question of
employment, if any, to the about 75,000 unemployed youth registered through
employment center.
Will any action be forthcoming on the account of any of
this? The time should be the answer!
