12 Lakh Aspirants Write TNPSC Group IV Examinations

The Tamilnadu Public Service Commission conducted Group IV examinations on Aug 25, 2013 and a total of 12,21,167 candidates appeared for the examinations across the state. The exam was conducted to fill up 5,566 posts - said, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), Chairman, A. Navaneethakrishnan.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai after the examinations, he said that the entire recruitment process will be conducted in a transparent manner and TNPSC has taken efforts to evaluate the answer sheets without any errors.

The examinations were taken care by 75,000 supervisors and 950 officials in flying squads in 4,764 centres in 244 places. With the distribution of unique hall tickets with routes to the examination venue, a large number of job aspirants reached the destination without difficulty and took the examination.

“TNPSC took efforts to conduct the examination without any malpractice and it has achieved it. The centers, which were considered as sensitive, were monitored through webcasting and video graph. Collectors have monitored the examination in districts. The examination was also monitored from TNPSC headquarter,” an official disclosed.

Through this exam, the Commission will fill up the State Government posts which includes Junior assistant, Bill collector, Typist, Steno, Field supervisor and Draftsman in Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Judicial Ministerial Service, Tamil Nadu Secretariat Service and Tamil Nadu Land Records and Subordinate Service.

Last year, more than 10 lakh candidates had appeared for 10,266 posts in the Group IV service. This year 86.43 per cent of the candidates who applied for the posts, have taken the examination.
