Scheme of examination of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon and Research Assistant Posts in TNPSC

The TNPSC exams mostly follow a written examination followed by an oral test to test a candidate on both analytical and leadership skills. A TNPSC examination is a public service examination hence an official in TNPSC must have the qualities of analytical reasoning and handling of situation skills to solve any problems and work in the post.

Accordingly, the examination pattern is set in the above mentioned forms of written and oral test formats.
The written test is of Objective type and it comprises pattern as:

The  minimum  qualifying  marks  for  admission  to  the  Oral  Test  shall  be  as follows:

(a) For Scheduled Castes, SC(A)s and Scheduled Tribes    : 171
(b) For Most Backward Classes/Denotified and Backward Classes, (OBCM) and   BCM Communities                                                                            : 171
(c) For Others                                                                           : 228

• The Question paper in Paper - I General Studies will be set both in English and Tamil.

• The existing syllabus under Paper-I & Paper- II have been clubbed together and constituted as a Single syllabus for Paper-II in the subject Veterinary Science (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science). The question paper in Paper - II Veterinary Science (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science) will be set in English only.
