Counseling on January 3 and 4 for VAO postings

It has been decided by the TNPSC Board to host counseling for the appointment of VAO candidates who have been selected through the TNPSC exams on January 03-01-2013 and 04-01-2013. On this account the posting vacancies have been looked into and has been announced that only North Tamil Nadu hosts more vacancies. Almost no vacancy in Chennai and Kanyakumari districts.

The VAO exams were held on September 30^th, 2012, written by almost 10 lakh candidates and the results were announced on November 30^th, 2012. 1,870 candidates will be posted to the available VAO postings consequently.

When the TNPSC exam results were announced for many exams it was decided that the posting appointments to the candidates will be done on their own district basis giving the candidates an opportunity to work in their own division. This delighted many. This system was successfully carried out with TET exams also in Tamil Nadu. The Government decided the same shall be done with TNPSC exams also.

But as the vacancies in Chennai and Kanyakumari districts are almost zero, the candidates will be accordingly posted in the North Tamil Nadu divisions. The vacancy posts in respective divivsions are as follows:

Kanchipuram – 123

Kadalur – 88

Krishnagiri – 73

Tiruvallur – 100

Tiruvannamalai – 115

Vellore – 112

Villupuram – 167

Te candidates will be assigned accordingly by the Board of selection. It has been requested that the candidates bring their original certificates and supporting documents with necessary photo copies of the same on the dates of counseling.
